The front nine is tree-lined with sloping fairways, while the back nine has a links-style layout. There are over 60 huge bunkers, and dramatically shaped and elevated greens. With stunning views of the vineyards and surrounding ridges and mountains, the course is equally enjoyable for novices or seasoned players.

Pokolbin is 160 km north of Sydney and approximately 50 km northwest of Newcastle.Take the Cessnock/Kurri Kurri exit from the F3 Freeway, proceed into Cessnock and turn right into Vincent Street. Turn left into Wollombi Road, then first right into Allandale Road. After five kilometres, turn left into Broke Road and follow this for approximately 3 kilometres to the T-intersection. Turn left into McDonalds Road and Cypress Lakes is on your right-hand side.
